I am visiting Tanzania for a couple weeks, and loved the baobab of Tarangire National Park. These trees can easily live to be 2,000 years old. Not seeing many libraries, however, and in the town of Arusha I tried to see what Tanzanian literature was available in bookstores, without much success. Only young reader fiction available, other than the obligatory Chinua Achebe.
