Reopening of the Koumbia Community Library #Burkina

In 2003, FAVL opened a library in the 29092012-P1130090commune of Koumbia. This library was well frequented by its community members, especially children and students. Unfortunately, the library suffered from financial difficulties in 2016 and had to close, but recently the FAVL team started negotiations with the mayor and the rural commune for its reopening. We are happy to hear from Kagambega Adiara, secretary of the mayor, the desire to reopen the Koumbia library. He has found a young man from the municipality who volunteered to run the library. The librarian’s training begins on May 27, and the library will open in June. Thank you to the mayor and his staff for the reopening of this library!
