From CESRUD Ghana coordinator Amii Clement:
I met with the Gowrie-Kunkua Community Library Committee regarding the recent electricity disconnection. The members explained that their meter is a postpaid one, and for over eight years, NEDCO had stopped issuing bills due to a technical issue. Despite several follow-ups, it was only last month that NEDCO resolved the problem and presented the accumulated bill, which unfortunately became too large for the library committee to settle. The committee expressed their heartfelt gratitude to CESRUD-FAVL Ghana for stepping in to pay the bill on their behalf. l paid GHC2120.00 into library’s account. They have assured that going forward, they will work closely together to ensure timely monthly payments and maintain consistent electricity supply to keep the library running smoothly and l made the NEDCO electricians to reinstall electricity and there is light in library currently. Again, l presented the textbooks that was purchased by CESRUD-FAVL to the library committee.
