October activities in Ghana libraries

In October, all three community libraries in Ghana had vibrant activities and positive community engagement. Gowrie Kunkua Community Library experienced consistent attendance, with students from neighboring communities joining for group and individual reading, storytelling, and games. A clean-up exercise and tree watering added community involvement, despite the coordinator’s absence due to an accident. The Sumbrungu Community Library emphasized a balance between games and educational activities, introducing debates and ‘spell me’ sessions to enhance language skills. Rewards like toffies for correct answers increased patron motivation. Sherigu Community Library engaged patrons in reading competitions, provided books to schools, and enjoyed diverse games. All libraries look forward to continued success in the coming months.
